Born in Brazil, Katia has always been passionate about art and history. Her curiosity and desire to travel led her to Europe. After earning a degree in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, she received scholarships to study in Spain (Fundación Ortega y Gasset) and England (University of London), before finally settling in Florence. She earned a PhD in History and Civilization from the European University Institute and fell in love with the city’s rich Renaissance heritage, choosing to make Florence her home.
In addition to her work as a tour guide, Katia is also dedicated to educational projects for children. In 2024, she co-wrote a children’s guide to Florence, which was gifted by the city to primary school students.
